Jared Leto’s Joker Set for Standalone Movie at Warner Bros

Plot details are unknown at this point, but executives at Warner Bros. apparently intend to expand on the world depicted in Suicide Squad.

Variety is reporting that the Joker standalone movie will work as a Suicide Squad spinoff, with more tie-in movies possibly slated for the future, should it prove to be a success. That film is being produced under a new banner separate from the DC Extended Universe, to which Jared Leto's Joker is part, along with Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn, Ben Affleck's Batman, Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa's Aquaman, etc. Leto's "Suicide Squad" incarnation was more cruel and self-assured, sporting slicked-back hair, face tattoos, and silver-capped fangs.

Per Variety, it looks like we won't be starving for Joker movies anytime soon as Jared Leto's Joker will now receive his own standalone feature that is wholly unconnected from the Todd Phillips-directed origin feature that was announced a year ago. Although he's been coy on the matter, Joaquin Phoenix has reportedly been in talks to star. One movie will be the origin story, while Jared Leto's will focus on the partly established character that we saw glimpses of during Suicide Squad.

The display is a 4.5-incher with an old-school 3:2 aspect ratio (1080x1620px resolution) protected by Gorilla Glass 3 layer. The latest smartphone is expected to arrive with a physical keyboard, dual rear cameras , and a textured back panel.

Despite earning awful reviews, "Suicide Squad" (2016) made Warner Bros. nearly $747 million at the worldwide box office.

For now, it seems that Warner Bros. and Jared Leto will be hunting for a writer and a director to get the ball rolling for yet another Joker movie.

Leto previously expressed interest in returning to the role, after many fans claimed that his version of the Joker was underused when the star made his DC debut. All six - yes, you read that correctly - six of them.
