Trump, Putin Will Discuss Russian Election Meddling

Senator Lindsey Graham said he's concerned President Donald Trump is too soft on Russian Federation and warned they infiltrated the 2016 US election and are doing it again during the 2018 midterms.

"What president Putin said to me, through the translator of course, that she said there was no meddling in the 2016 election by the Russian state", Bolton said. "We've now got ISIS in a good spot, but a lot of people over here are very anxious about leaving Syria and giving it to the Iranians and the Russians, which would throw the whole region into chaos".

Graham continued: "I'm concerned when the president tweets that Russian Federation denies they meddled in our elections".

Also, asked if he would recognize Crimea, which rejoined Russia in the spring of 2014 after referendum, as Russia, Trump told reporters "we're going to have to see".

The US intelligence community believes that the Russian government was engaged in electoral interference during the 2016 US presidential elections.

"I don't read the way he conducted these meetings the same way", Bolton said.

Edinson Cavani later added a third goal for his country with a poacher's finish from Diego Godin's header at a corner. Uruguay went up 2-0 over Russian Federation on an own-goal - the sixth of the World Cup to tie the tournament record.

Trump denies wrongdoing and calls an investigation into possible collusion between his presidential campaign and Russian Federation a "witch hunt". Last week, he tweeted that "Russia continues to say they had nothing to do with meddling in our election", while at the same time attacking the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Trump tweeted last week.

Bolton also said he discussed Russia's annexation of Crimea with Putin and his aides during a 90-minute meeting.

Several members of the president's national security team had cautioned against meeting with Putin after what is expected to be a tense summit with North Atlantic Treaty Organisation partners the prior week. Trump maintains there was "no collusion" between his campaign and Russian Federation leading up to the 2016 presidential election, a subject at the core of several federal investigations. We don't want anybody tampering with elections.

On "Meet the Press", Graham said he supports the meeting but hopes Trump will come out strongly against Russia's actions. So I'm glad the president is going to confront Putin.

Asked about lifting of sanctions on Russia, Mr Trump appeared to be non-committal. "That's not the position of the United States".
