David Davis warns United Kingdom giving away too much in Brexit talks

British Prime Minister Theresa May has replaced Boris Johnson with a loyalist, former health secretary Jeremy Hunt, as foreign secretary and gave David Davis' job of Brexit secretary to Dominic Raab in a bid to shore up her authority. The question now is "will any more of the cabinet follow him out of the door?"

Johnson sent an incendiary resignation letter on Monday accusing May of killing "the Brexit dream" and flying "white flags" of surrender in negotiations with the European Union.

In a tweet created to show she had not been knocked off course, Mrs May said: "Productive Cabinet meeting this morning - looking ahead to a busy week".

The plan agreed at May's country retreat at Chequers near London last Friday would involve Britain pursuing a "UK-EU free trade area" for goods that would involve regulatory alignment with the EU.

Merkel welcomed the fact that Britain had formulated a position to take into stalled negotiations with the EU. He said: "It's going to be an interesting time in the United Kingdom and an interesting time at North Atlantic Treaty Organisation".

With less than nine months left until Britain is due to leave the bloc, May is sticking to her plan for a "business friendly" Brexit. Bradley called on May to "deliver Brexit in spirit as well as in name".

The top four positions in May's Cabinet - that of Prime Minister, foreign secretary, home secretary, and Chancellor of the Exchequer - are now populated by those who voted Remain in the June 2016 referendum. Asked if he was planning to quit, environment Secretary Michael Gove said "absolutely not".

The British leader may have stilled the waters over a possible leadership contest, but some Conservative Brexit supporters are still incensed over what they see as her decision to break her promise for a clean break with the EU.

Widdecombe, well-known in Britain as being characteristically blunt, served in government under Prime Minister John Major, and in opposition under William Hague, where she was frequently tipped as a future party leader. A leadership challenge to her can be sparked if 48 of her lawmakers write to the Conservative's influential 1922 Committee.

England stars’ amusing reactions after qualifying for quarter-finals
England will have just three days to recover before facing Sweden in Samara on Saturday for a place in the semi-finals. After a tense 30 minutes which was dominated from Colombians, the tie moved into penalties.

May's personal authority was badly damaged after she called a snap election past year to strengthen her hand in Brexit talks but instead she lost her parliamentary majority, meaning she has to rely on a small Northern Irish party to govern. The EU says it will respond once it has seen the details. "It's a good thing that we have proposals on the table".

During a dramatic statement to the House of Commons, North Shropshire MP Owen Paterson pressed the embattled Prime Minister over when she would be prepared to abandon negotiations with the European Union in favour of no-deal.

The president spoke to reporters on the south lawn of the White House on Tuesday morning, before boarding Marine One to begin his trip to Europe, which will start with a North Atlantic Treaty Organisation summit in Brussels.

The trans-Atlantic relationship has had some awkward moments since Trump's election.

"This is not a betrayal", she responded to one of several eurosceptic Conservative MPs who complained, insisting it was "the right Brexit deal for Britain".

"Relations between the two countries are likely to remain strong as long as the Conservatives remain in power", the paper says.

May is due to address Parliament later on Monday to explain her plan for Britain to adopt European Union rules on goods after Brexit, amid anger from members of Parliament in her own party who want a cleaner break and businesses who say it may still cause economic harm. And I think David Davis has showed authenticity and integrity that frankly the likes of Boris Johnson have not.

"Perhaps, one side effect of my departure might be to put a little pressure on the government not to make any other concessions and I will keep arguing to say there is a better way to do it than this", Davis said.
