Weather Alert Day: More rain and continued flooding concerns

The front will push southward Wednesday night into Thursday morning bringing areas of rain and scattered strong storms, a few with large hail and gusty winds before midnight.

There's no rest for the tired in this sticky and stormy pattern, as the humidity as well as the showers and thunderstorms are relentless, occurring any time both day and night. Monday still brings the chance for a few showers and thunderstorms.

"Bands of showers and a few thunderstorms will continue today, with the best chance across the interior, with some scattered showers lingering across the west tonight", forecasters wrote. The storm is expected to produce rainfall amounts between three-quarters of an inch and an inch and a quarter, NWS said. Storms should clear El Paso, Pueblo and western Las Animas counties generally after 5pm and move east and southeast to the Kansas border. Right now we look to see an end in the rain by the time we get to next Friday.

Starting Thursday, the stalled system will dissipate which should result in more sunshine, higher temperatures & lower (but still possible) rain chances. But as has been the case most of the week, it's not the heat but rather the humidity that makes it rather unbearable outside.

Severe Weather Expected Tonight

"Showers and widely scattered thunderstorms will move into western MA and north central CT around midday", the service wrote.

Wednesday will be mostly sunny and a little warmer with highs in the mid 80s and dew points in the 60s. "There may be heavy downpours with some of the showers which may cause localized flooding".

More soggy weather is on the horizon for Staten Island.

Sunday, the pick of the weekend (and maybe even of the entire 7-day), will be the relief that we've been searching for. Please be as descriptive as possible and also include the location (town/city) where the photo or video was taken.
