What Kelvin Benjamin said about Cam Newton's pre-game chat

Prior to Carolina's preseason game against Buffalo on Thursday, the two met at midfield.

For the Panthers, there were some unresolved issues between Cam Newton and Kelvin Benjamin. Any other accurate quarterback like [Aaron] Rodgers or Eli Manning or Big Ben [Roethlisberger] - anybody! - quarterbacks with knowledge, that know how to place a ball and give you a better chance to catch the ball.

Newton attempted to shake Benjamin's hand, but the Bills wide receiver kept his hands at his side. Benjamin didn't want to talk to Newton and he didn't want to talk to reporters about Newton, saying: "I mean, I'm just moving on from it I guess". The beef stems from this quote from Benjamin speaking to The Athletic on his time in Carolina.

Kelvin Benjamin just brushed off Cam Newton like a defensive back. leaving Cam hanging on a high five and exchanging heated words with the QB - and it's all on video.

Benjamin was a first-round pick by the Panthers in 2014 and played in 40 career games with them, catching 184 passes for 2,424 yards and 19 touchdowns. Nothing to see here, just a few position battles. Newton apparently wanted to discuss. Benjamin didn't appear to want to have much of a conversation. Benjamin was traded to Buffalo during the season a year ago. While Newton seemed initially friendly during the meeting, neither man was smiling as Benjamin started to walk away from him.
