Jon Tester’s Campaign Disavows Pearl Jam Poster with Dead Donald Trump

He wrote: 'This poster from Pearl Jam is disgusting and reprehensible.

But it's getting the most attention for depicting the White House in flames, the Washington Monument and Lincoln Memorial falling down, and the body of President Donald J. Trump reaching for a briefcase with the communist hammer and sickle emblem on it, while getting picked at by a bald eagle.

In bassist Jeff Ament's home state of Montana, Pearl Jam were at Washington-Grizzly Stadium Monday night, which doubled as a reelection fundraiser for US Senate hopeful Jon Tester.

Tester is depicted in the poster flying over the burning White House driving a tractor, while his opponent Matt Rosendale, is seen in the corner with a lobster claw as a hand and a "Maryland" sign.

In a Twitter post on Pearl Jam's official account on Tuesday, a separate image includes notes from Ament about the poster concept. Jon Tester in Montana.

This is disgusting and Democrat Jon Tester seems perfectly OK with it. Tester should apologize to @realDonaldTrump & the people of Montana.

Trump’s Military Parade Is Delayed
The cost was initially put at a minimum of $10 million, a decline in real terms on a parade marking the end of the Gulf War in... Defense Secretary Jim Mattis later told reporters he "had received no such estimate" and said he would "discount that".

The poster was released shortly before the band's Monday show and done "in support of Tester, a Democrat serving the Treasure State who is seeking his third term in the US Senate", Pitchfork reported. It features an image President Trump's dead body, and was used in the promotion of an August 13 concert that helped raise money for Tester's campaign.

The poster includes an accompanying message from Ament that says, "Y'all know the deal, we're at a tipping point and its (sic) time for action".

Responding online to the poster, some fans even said they would be boycotting the band's music as a result of the controversial artwork. Titled "Can't Deny Me", the track is a rather overt political track that takes aim at Donald Trump with lyrics like "You may be rich but you can't deny me/got nothing but the will to survive", and "The country you are representing/condition critical".

Many fans attacked the band on the Instagram post featuring the poster as well.

If anyone thinks Pearl Jam are going to do the opposite of Tom Petty and back down from this, they don't know them very well.
