The new installment of the noir series stars Mahershala Ali as Wayne Hays, a state police detective from Northwest Arkansas.

Based on HBO's first teaser trailer for the crime anthology series' third season, it sure looks like it. "I want to know the whole story".

"My job. there's no certainty", Hays' narration continues.

"This case is more haunting than anything", Ali says in the video.

Speaking from the White House Monday morning, President Trump announced a reboot of NAFTA after weeks of negotiations with Mexico. They will now likely re-engage with Canada to reach a final deal on NAFTA, a primary goal of the Trump administration .

Most people will agree that the first season of 'True Detective' was revelatory and the second was mixed (sorry, Colin) - which means there's a lot riding on Season 3. Similar to the show's critically acclaimed first season, Season 3 will unfold across multiple time periods with the trailer providing glimpses of Hays at different points of his life haunted by the ongoing investigation.

HBO president Casey Bloys said at the Television Critics Association press tour earlier this month that "True Detective" creator Nic Pizzolatto wrote four scripts ahead of filming and the network felt confident about the show's return to form. Carmen Ejogo (Zero Hour), Scoot McNairy (Halt and Catch Fire), Mamie Gummer (The Good Wife) and Stephen Dorff (Star) co-star.

HBO revealed the teaser trailer for True Detective season 3 following the gripping finale of the psychological thriller miniseries Sharp Objects on Sunday, August 26. Jeremy Saulnier (Blue Ruin) and Daniel Sackheim (The Walking Dead and The Americans) will serve as directors for some of the season's episodes.
