A choir from the Jesuit-run Brophy College Preparatory school that two of McCain's sons attended was scheduled to sing "Amazing Grace" and "Arizona" during the church service. Ducey is also headed for a tough reelection battle in the fall, and is seeking a smooth replacement process.

McCain died on Saturday, a little more than a year after doctors diagnosed him with brain cancer.

During the CBS interview, Graham criticized Trump for belatedly issuing a proclamation for USA flags to fly at half-staff until McCain's burial this weekend. McCain's office, as many as 15,000 people visited the Capitol to pay their respects. Jeff Flake and former Sen.

"When he [Trump] says something bad about John, it pisses me off", Graham said on CNN.

Arizona's first responders lined the plaza as the Arizona National Guard team carried McCain inside the Capitol.

Senator McCain's body will lie in Arizona before his final journey to the US Naval Academy in Washington DC.

According to the New York Post, pallbearers include actor Warren Beatty, Mayor Mike Bloomberg, former Senator Gary Hart and former Vice President Joe Biden.
