In addition to the Ice Cube concert, the venue's schedule included a full day of races.

Daniel Elizarraras, a 22-year-old from Escondido, became involved in an argument Sunday when he was told at the ticket window that the Ice Cube concert he wanted to attend was sold out, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department. The man pulled out a silver plated semi-automatic handgun and fired several shots into a crowded area. Reports said deputies ordered the man to drop the weapon, then fired four rounds when he refused to follow their instructions, hitting him at least once.

Ice Cube tweeted at his fans, "come see ya homie Cube... but leave the strap at home".

The alleged shooter was reportedly taken down by police before being rushed to hospital with gun shot wounds.
