Lindsey Graham rages over Kavanaugh allegations: "This is hell"

Lindsey Graham rages over Kavanaugh allegations:

"What you want to do is destroy this guy's life, hold this seat open and hope you win in 2020", Graham said.

The South Carolina senator has become one of Kavanaugh's fiercest advocates in Congress, and has used the hearings to address a cultural referendum on allegations of sexual misconduct.

"The constant drumbeat by Republicans that sexual battery allegations against Brett Kavanaugh were mishandled is clearly an effort to discredit the women who have come forward over the past couple weeks", Ms. Feinstein said.

Kavanaugh said he did not question that Ford was assaulted, but said, "I have never done this to her or to anyone". "I'd never do to them what you've done to this guy", Graham added.

Regardless, Senate Democrats say the hearing itself gives insight into Kavanaugh's political leanings. But according to the Pew Research Center, Democrats are more enthusiastic and prepared to turn out at the polls this year than they were in the past three midterms.

Speaking to reporters during a break in the hearing, Graham said that he "had enough of this charade".

While addressing the Democrats who were questioning Kavanaugh fairly, especially considering hasn;t been an FBI investigation, Graham roared, "Boy, you all want power!" He told Kavanaugh that he hopes the nominee ends up on the Supreme Court, saying, "that's exactly where you should be".

However, Press Secretary Sarah Sanders insists the White House is staying out of it.

He noted that U.S. troops are present in Syria despite the fact that the regime of Bashar al-Assad does not want them there. He added, the US has re-imposed sanctions on the regime, which are set to take effect on November 5, 2018.

Cotton also noted they are investigating Ford's lawyers, who failed to tell their client that the Senate Judiciary Committee offered to meet her in California for a private testimony, so she wouldn't have to face her fear of flying and board a plane to Washington. "Because I got here the same way anyone else did", said Graham, before launching into a long-winded speech.

[Blasey Ford] described a past sexual assault and the more recent media assault on her in excruciating and vulnerable detail, but did not yell, did not betray a hint of the fury she had every reason to feel as she was forced to put her pain on display for the nation. Kavanaugh is testifying later Thursday.

Graham's demands for a secondary investigation Sunday mark the latest chapter in the ongoing saga surrounding Kavanaugh's nomination. It seemed that Dr. Ford's attorneys hadn't told her she had a choice.

In Kavanaugh's angry and tearful opening statement, supporters saw an expression of the frustration Republicans have felt since Kavanaugh was nominated by President Donald Trump in July.

"I think people in the country are going to feel differently a week from now", he said. Kavanaugh denies the allegation. And the ugly us-versus-them tribalism of the modern-day GOP escalated with Kavanaugh's nomination and the overt partisanship that Kavanaugh, Graham and other Republicans brought to the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on September 27.

"If you wanted an FBI investigation, you could have come to us!"

"The White House isn't intervening". What city are they going to go to?
