Will Smith Reveals New Poster For Live-Action ‘Aladdin’ Remake

While there is no Genie yet in the trailer, we do get a glimpse of his home as Aladdin reaches for it in the Cave of Wonders.

Disney has just dropped the first trailer for the upcoming live-action adaption of Aladdin.

Ready to explore a whole new world? The Suicide Squad actor, who will be playing the magical Genie in the much-awaited film, took to his Instagram account to share the first poster.

As nearly everyone knows, Genie has been trapped inside the lamp for thousands of years, but once the street-rat-turned-phony-prince Aladdin rubs its side, Genie is finally free.

Disney's live-action adaptation of Aladdin flies into theaters on May 24, 2019.

John August, whose credits include "Big Fish", wrote the new "Aladdin" script. Dan Lin, who produced Ritchie's two "Sherlock Holmes" movies for Warner Bros., is also producing "Aladdin" through his Lin Pictures company.
