‘I think we’ll probably pass’ on calling Obama, other pipe bomb targets

"They may have paid him to do it".

The suspected Florida mail bomber is a lost and "sick individual' who estranged himself from his family but eventually "found a father" in President Trump, his family's lawyer said".

In linking him to the Twitter account, The Associated Press noted that it contains imagery that mirrored what appeared on the side of the van that authorities seized.

The complaint identifies a Twitter account that authorities said he used to rail against Democratic figures, and it notes that both his social media messages and the bomb packages used the same misspelling - "Hilary Clinton" - for Trump's 2016 opponent.

Sayoc's arrest capped a week in which pipe bombs sent to some of America's biggest names - Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Robert De Niro - dominated the media.

Sayoc also posted frequently on right-wing social media groups, authorities said. Just today, packages were found that were addressed to Sens. Cory Booker and former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper on October 25.

In all, Sayoc is believed to have sent at least 14 bombs to 12 targets, all of whom are regularly disparaged by the right.

Sayoc Jr is charged with interstate transportation of explosives, illegal mailing of explosives, threats against a former president and certain other persons, threatening interstate communications and assaulting current and former federal officers.

Sayoc is a registered Republican, according to Miami-Dade records Law&Crime obtained.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions was asked about why Sayoc had allegedly only been targeting Democrats at that same news conference.

Since the suspected USA mail bomber was named, odd details about his past have started to emerge in the media. Kamala Harris of California said investigators were looking at a package sent to her office.

Second Migrant Caravan Nears Mexico in Wake of Honduran Exodus
A new caravan would follow a convoy of more than 7,000 people now transiting Mexico , en route from Honduras to the United States. Caravan members also face the threat of being robbed, kidnapped or killed by Mexican gangs that extort migrants on their journey.

Announcing the arrest to a cheering audience at the White House, Trump said such "terrorizing acts" were despicable and had no place in the United States. "I have been briefed by FDLE on developments regarding the attempted bombings".

He suggested that the problem was not real or exaggerated, putting the word "bomb" in quotes.

The most recent bomb connected to Sayoc was addressed to major Democratic donor Tom Steyer.

His criminal history from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement indicates that he listed his occupation some years ago as "manager".

He filed for bankruptcy in 2012 and documents showed he had $4,175 in personal property but owned no furniture, and had more than $21,000 in debts. "Lives w/mom", a handwritten note on the petition said.

Federal Bureau of Investigation agents arrested Sayoc, 56, at an AutoZone parking lot in Plantation, Florida, about six miles west of Fort Lauderdale, on Friday morning. Patrol cars shut down the surrounding streets, leaving rows of businesses inaccessible for part of the morning.

Sayoc's political leanings are on full display on his Facebook page, his Twitter accounts and his impounded white van - which was covered with pro-Trump decals and anti-Democrat stickers.

Florida resident Cesar Sayoc, 56, has been arrested numerous times over the years for domestic violence, theft and other charges, according to public records.

Some of the parcels also contained photographs of the intended recipients marked with a red X, according to a criminal complaint in Manhattan federal court. Later in the day he was charged with five federal crimes, which carry a possible sentence of up to 48 years in prison.

Sayoc is expected to appear in court on Monday in Miami. "We hope that he will be presented in court and brought to NY expeditiously so that the case can proceed", Baumgartel said.

Earlier today, two more packages were discovered in Florida and NY, bringing the total to 12 this week.
