Opener Shikhar Dhawan leads the batting department that features KL Rahul, Manish Pandey and Dinesh Karthik.

Chairman of Selectors, Courtney Browne said: "With the T20 World Cup two years away the process of rebuilding a squad to be a competitive unit for the tournament is critical at this stage".

All-rounder Krunal Pandya, who has been consistent in IPL over the years, is in the squad and is likely to make his global debut today if India decide to go in with a third spinner.

West Indies: Carlos Brathwaite (Capt.), Fabian Allen, Darren Bravo, Shimron Hetmyer, Keemo Paul, Kieron Pollard, Denesh Ramdin, Shai Hope, Sherfane Rutherford, Oshane Thomas, Khary Pierre, Obed McCoy, Rovman Powell and Nicholas Pooran.

Twenty-four hours ahead of the match, BCCI announced a 12-member squad for the game which had Krunal Pandya in it. Pandya is in line to make his debut for the national team.

What No. 5 CFB Playoff ranking means for Wolverines
It seemed to send a signal the committee would be different from traditional polls that tended to honor win-loss record above all. Georgia debuted at No. 1 in the first playoff rankings last season, but fell to No. 7 after losing to Auburn two weeks later.

Although according to regular skipper Virat Kohli, who has also opted out of the series, Dhoni remains an integral part of India's plans, it is widely believed that the 37-year old is being phased out owing to his poor run since the turn of the year.

Down with a "gastric complaint", Bhuvneshwar Kumar pulled out in the last minute despite being named in the XII, but his absence was hardly felt with Yadav and debutant and Khaleel doing a fine job.

The Windies will also miss offie Ashley Nurse who picked up an injury during the ODIs and has been ruled out. The humidity is expected to be high and there will be a bit of dew as well throughout the match.

West Indies lead India 5-2 in the eight matches they have played so far. On current form, having recorded big wins in the Test and ODI series, India look to be the favorites but West Indies are a completely different team when it comes to T20Is. Andre Russell, Kieron Pollard and Darren Bravo are all back in India for the series. Hosts India have been dominating them since the start of the series in October.

Here's a look at the predicted playing XIs of both teams.
