Sarkar Film Row: Director AR Murugadoss applies for anticipatory bail

AR Murugadoss directed "Sarkar", a political thriller, hit the screens on Tuesday.

Since the beginning "Sarkar" is surrounded by sea of controversies.

The counsel also informed the judge that the objectionable portions had already been removed from the film.

Earlier, AIADMK workers had staged protests across Tamil Nadu outside theatres screening the film, and had even damaged the banners of the movie. If they (the makers) remove these scenes, then it is good.

On Thursday, a complaint was also filed with the Chennai city police commissioner urging him to take action against director AR Murugadoss under section 124A (Sedition) of the IPC for insulting the state government.

They also opposed the usage of the name "Komalavalli" for the antagonist, played by Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, claiming that Komalavalli was Jayalalithaa's birth name and that the movie shows her in a bad light. "So the issue has come to an end", Raju said.

New Apple iPad Pro review roundup: not quite ready to replace laptpos
In the review for TechCrunch , Matthew Panzario writes that iPad Pro nails design with a strong appeal for business customers. Apparently, it so high that you can even skip buying the 15-inch MacBook Pro that came out in July this year.

Defending the protests, Raju said AIADMK workers "ranging from an ordinary cadre to the Chief Minister (K Palaniswami)", consider Jayalalithaa as their "God".

Actor and MNM founder Kamal Haasan who was the first from the industry to defend Sarkar, had tweeted: "Employing pressure tactics through its tyrannical power to sabotage a duly certified film like Sarkar is not new to this government".

The AIADMK ministers demanded deletion of the contentious scenes, besides threatening to initiate legal action if the film crew failed to comply. The scene is a swipe at the freebie culture that exists in Tamil Nadu.

The AIAMDK government under late J. Jayalalithaa offered free mixer, grinder, laptops and others to the poor.

Sarkar is produced by Sun Pictures with music composed by ARRahman.
