How to enable Dark Mode on your Android smartphone

Google, for its part, hasn't exactly helped conserve battery life on Android with the Material Design-ification of all of its apps, though. Smartphone displays consume the highest battery power and lighter themes tend to draw more energy, which is why dark modes are gaining popularity. As white uses all the display's various components to shine, it uses the most power. In essence, pixels displaying the colour black are actually turned off and are using very little power - if any. And what is perhaps even more interesting here is that normal mode at 50-percent brightness is 93mA, while dark mode at 100-percent brightness is 96mA, showing that white mode at 50-percent brightness is nearly the same as dark mode at full brightness. But in Dark Mode, battery consumption on the Pixel drops 63% to 92mA. And when it comes to Black and White both are at the opposite ends in power consumption.

The Dark Mode basically reverses the color theme of an operating system (OS) or applications by replacing the white background with black. The company acknowledged that white is "less than ideal".

The tech giant Google has now revealed that this dark mode has one last important and very efficient function. According to Google's research, colors displayed on the screen can affect the phone's battery draw, and a night mode (either dark gray or AMOLED black) can go a long way to save battery. This is the first thing that appears on the phone when you unlock so it makes sense to have a dark wallpaper. The reason for this was due to the design guidelines that Google had outlines for Android and apps.

His point total set a new Duke record for most points scored by a freshman in a season opener, breaking the previous record of 25. The so-called second best team in the country couldn't compete with Duke for more than six minutes of gameplay.

How much China impacts Google's statistical modeling is hard to say; the company did not immediately respond to a request for comment. But so far, only a couple have dark modes available, like YouTube and Google News. Not only is it going to provide a better user experience for users, but it is also going to provide better battery life.

After Banes, Alan Viverette then took to the stage to talk about how devs should embrace dark mode and went into detail on how they can implement it. Let's hope more and more of our daily usage apps should embrace this dark theme.

It's also adding some new features, including a redesigned user interface and celebratory notifications for those times when you save storage space.
