Grizzlies acquire Holiday from Bulls

The Chicago Bulls traded Justin Holiday to the Memphis Grizzlies on Thursday night.

The second round picks are believed to be in 2019 and 2020, according to Wojnarowski.

Holiday is averaging 11.6 points and 4.4 rebounds in 34.9 minutes per game this season.

With the recent woes on the wing, Justin should certainly become one of our more reliable wings, as Selden and Brooks were never able to seize the opportunity given to become a core guard and be in play for long-term roles. This season, hes averaging 5.4 points, 1.4 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 14.2 minutes per game.

Selden will be available for Sunday's game against the Nets, Cody Westerlund of 670 The Score reports.

Defense was Holiday's calling card before he developed as a shooter in his mid-20s, and his length and diligence at that end of the court will fit right in with the Grit "n" Grind 2.0 Grizzlies. He's shooting 35.9 percent from 3-point range with a career-high 7.1 attempts per game.

The cost to Memphis here is a pair of second-round picks, both of which have a chance to end up in the top half of the round and be reasonably valuable. "Hopefully Wayne can help us shore down that wing defender position as well". We lost several cheap assets and managed to get a lot older on an already well-seasoned Memphis roster. He played a few games for the New Orleans Pelicans in 2016-17 on a 10-day contract, and was then signed by the Grizzlies for the remainder of 2016-17, lasting through this season.

The Bulls also waived guard Cameron Payne, who was in his third season in Chicago.
