Lieutenant Lyman said the crash happened on Monday (local time) but the driver originally claimed she had become distracted by her passenger.

All this despite the fact that Netflix have actually warned people to stop doing the Bird Box challenge.

Police suspect that a recent viral challenge inspired by the popular Netflix horror movie Bird Box was responsible for a vehicle accident on Monday.

The "Bird Box Challenge" takes its name from a recent Netflix movie "Bird Box", in which the characters must remain blindfolded.

Earlier this week, popular YouTuber Jake Paul released a video showing himself trying to drive blindfolded before hitting garbage bins, and then later walking through traffic. No word on whether the other driver plans to sue her for criminal stupidity - it was reportedly through his own efforts that police learned the driver who'd hit him was blindfolded.

Layton Police said that a 17-year-old girl was driving down Utah's Layton Parkway on Monday when she chose to cover her eyes with her beanie to participate in the so-called "Bird Box Challenge" and immediately lost control of her grey truck.

Manchester City vs. Burton Albion (Carabao Cup)
They are now enjoying a four game unbeaten run in all competitions, while only Chelsea have won at the Amex since mid-September. When you have high intensity for 90 minutes they [drop] and that's why after the third and fourth goals it was easier.

"I nearly feel silly saying this", said Layton Police Lieutenant Travis Lyman.

The challenge prompted Netflix to issue a warning tweet on January 2.

Luckily, no one was hurt as a result of the crash.

"It's just inexcusable to do something as unsafe as this, not only to yourself but everyone else on the road", said police Lt Travis Lyman, quoted by KSL.com.

Sadly, some people still are still embracing the stupid, as seen by this 16-year-old motorist in the USA.
