Porzingis hints he'll stay with Mavericks

They traded their star, Kristaps Porzingis, to the Dallas Mavericks to free up cap space that now makes them capable of signing two superstars on max contracts. He will have his introductory news conference in Dallas on Monday (Tuesday, Manila time). The 23-year-old was traded to the Mavs from the New York Knicks.

Porzingis will reportedly not play this season as he continues recovering from an anterior cruciate ligament tear he suffered a year ago. I feel like it's a big opportunity for me. Porzingis's rookie contract is due to expire, allowing him to become a restricted free agent.

Porzingis, the No. 4 overall pick in the 2015 National Basketball Association draft, was averaging a career-best 22.7 points per game before he suffered a torn ACL in his left knee during a breakout All-Star season in 2017-18.

Cuban made it clear the Mavericks want to make it hard on Porzingis to leave by helping build a roster around him and Doncic, the clear frontrunner for NBA Rookie of the Year.

Let's hope you weren't banking on Maroon 5 to salvage a surprisingly boring Super Bowl (or is it a Punt Bowl?). In an email to MONEY, NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy told MONEY that the league covers all costs.

According to ESPN, Porzingis was asked if he wants to play in Dallas for the long haul, Cuban interjected saying "I can answer that for you".

But multiple teams interested in making an offer for Porzingis said that they were unable to do so before NY traded Porzingis to Dallas, league sources said.

Porzingis is still yet to come back from his ACL injury and there is no set return date.

"When the meeting occurred this morning, we'd already been having many conversations with a number of teams", Perry said Thursday. "I really think we can be something special".
