Apex Legends hits a million players seemingly much faster than Fortnite

Respawn Entertainment just announced and launched Apex Legends yesterday, which is a new class-based battle royale game.

From what I've been able to play, Apex Legends is a fun, intriguing battle royale game that brings Titanfall's mechanics to a new genre of gameplay.

Apex Legends can be played on PC, PS4 and Xbox One right now for free but it comes with some drawbacks.

With numerous top streamers playing Apex Legends on launch day, it already rose to the top of all games on February 4, and KEEMSTAR will know an organized event with a big prize pool could be a massive attraction. Titanfall 3 is also likely in the works, although there's no word on when we'll see it.

Get the first details about this free-to-play battle royale game via the press release shared by EA. Players will select from one of eight Legends - each with their own unique abilities and playstyles - and the last team standing wins.

Season 1 officially begins in March, and will mark the launch of the battle pass system. Those items will include both "exclusive seasonal cosmetics" as well as the loot box-style Apex Packs - but no Legends.

Venezuela air force general defects from Maduro government
The previously little-known 35-year old industrial engineer has offered the military and public officials amnesty if they defect. Guaido indicated that there would be no dialogue with Maduro or anyone in his government.

The roster of playable heroes now sits at eight, though Respawn Entertainment is expected to add more characters over time.

I.e. the big surprise in the reveal is an Oprah moment - that the bally game is released into the world at the culmination of it. Those concerns look so far to be unfounded as players are flocking to the free-to-play game set in the Titanfall universe.

Legend Tokens are earned by leveling up in-game, and can be used to purchase Legends.

Respawn has said the number of total players may increase over time. It's not clear if Titanfall 3 was ever actually in development or if Apex Legends was the game the studio had planned to develop all along.

KitGuru Says: Apex Legends appears to be doing well at this point but it will be interesting to see how many players stick around over the next few weeks.
