Michael Cohen's lawyer contradicts evidence on Trump pardon

President Donald Trump's personal attorney Michael Cohen met with House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff, D-Calif., several times before testifying before the panel last week, Fox News reports. His lawyers totally contradicted him.

McDougal, a former Playboy playmate, and Clifford, an adult-film star, are two women for whom Cohen has said he arranged hush payments at Trump's direction to hide alleged affairs with Trump.

Cohen came under renewed scrutiny after telling Congress that he never sought a pardon from the president.

"You're getting in trouble because you work for me, you're getting reimbursed", Mr Giuliani said. He lied again! He also badly wanted to work at the White House.

President Donald Trump's former attorney, Michael Cohen, is suing the Trump Organization, alleging it failed to pay his legal bills. Cohen also testified to Congress that he spoke directly to Sekulow about pardons, according to the sources, which Sekulow denies. He also accused the president of committing crimes including campaign finance violations and potential tax fraud.

Former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort was sentenced Thursday to almost four years in prison for tax and bank fraud related to his work advising Ukrainian politicians.

Cohen made brief remarks to reporters following his testimony.

"During that time period, he directed his attorney to explore possibilities of a pardon at one point with Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani, as well as other lawyers advising President Trump", Davis said in a statement. The complaint chronicled, from Cohen's perspective, how he went from being a trusted Trump associate, so intertwined with the president's family business that it offered to pay his legal costs, to a bitter enemy, who last week told lawmakers that Trump was a "cheat", a "racist" and a "con man".

Special counsel Robert Mueller is looking into whether the Trump campaign coordinated with Russian Federation and whether the president obstructed the investigation.

Cohen's legal team argued that his statement was correct because Cohen never asked the president himself for a pardon. The results were heavily skewed on party lines, with most Republicans believing Trump and most Democrats trusting Cohen.

"That continues to be the case", Davis said.

No pardon was given, and Cohen ultimately pleaded guilty and is cooperating against the president in separate investigations by the special counsel and by federal prosecutors in NY.

While the Trump Organization had been paying Cohen for company-related work, payments stopped being made two months after the Federal Bureau of Investigation raided Trump's former attorney's home and office in April a year ago, the lawsuit said.
