Magic Johnson Steps Down as Lakers President

- Dave McMenamin (@mcten) April 10, 2019Since taking over as president of the Lakers, Magic Johnson never fully committed to the job. "I'm looking forward to it".

After a disappointing seasons, Luke Walton being fired is something that we have all expected to be coming for a few weeks now. Magic claimed he didn't finalize his decision until Tuesday morning. "Her and I have such an wonderful relationship and I think that she gave full power to do what I wanted to do ..."

Johnson's desire for his old life wasn't the only reason for his departure.

As seen in the video clip embedded above, LaVar also spoke about how he still wants his three sons, Lonzo, LiAngelo and LaMelo to play on the same National Basketball Association team.

Williams has yet to comment on if Johnson will join her camp.

"I thought about Dwyane Wade retiring (Wednesday), and I can't even tweet that out or be there", Johnson said.

"No anxiety. But call me later tonight and the answer might be different", Walton said.

"I'm happy about the direction, and if the young guys mature the way we feel they can mature, I think that this team will be outstanding. I had more fun on the other side". As far as we know, that did not happen, and James seemingly made an easy transition from Cleveland to Los Angeles without a series of pitches from the teams Smith had mentioned. But, Walton's job status is now uncertain following Johnson's announcement, the report says.

Barr also said Tuesday he will release a redacted version of special counsel Robert Mueller's full report next week. The FBI had placed confidential informants in direct contact with members of the campaign, according to reports.

Johnson scored the biggest free agent coup of this past offseason when superstar LeBron James signed with the Lakers as a free agent.

However, there were some other issues which were frustrating Johnson.

Kyrie Irving will entertain the idea of a reunion with LeBron James this summer, according to ESPN's Stephen A. Smith.

But after James strained his groin at Christmas and subsequently sat out for the longest injury absence of his 16-year National Basketball Association career, the Lakers were unable to compile enough midseason wins to stay in playoff contention.

Johnson, an NBA Hall of Famer, became a much maligned figure in New Orleans thanks to the trade discussions surrounding Pelicans star player Anthony Davis.

This season didn't go as planned for the Lakers, though.

Johnson said his inability to speak freely about rival players was a contributing factor, calling himself a "free bird" who didn't like being "handcuffed". Meanwhile, the Lakers haven't tangibly improved under his leadership, as they missed the playoffs for the sixth straight season.

Johnson called an impromptu press conference Tuesday where he announced the news. He said both were decisions for Buss. Jerry Buss. "She gave me full power to do what I wanted to do, but I think that with her and I, I always want to preserve our relationship. I knew if I stayed in the role, I'd be giving up a lot of me".
